Design is a process, right? This particular process was all about taking a design and following specific instructions to recycle it. However, as a designer it’s also my job to identify and compensate for issues that arise during the design process. The “design as a process” concept is true in many ways. In this case, the work took a couple of iterations before reaching completion. The end result also illustrates the ways in which one design can slowly morph over time.
Hi Ethan,
Take a look at the attached PDF, it was the final version of the photoshop file. I would like it to look as close as possible to the PDF file because it looks very professional. However, I would like to make the following changes.
Thank you!
Hi Mr Yahner,
I wound up opening the pdf file in Illustrator and proceeding from there. I figured this would preserve the vector format and give the highest possible resolution for print. I was not familiar with the color Vegas Gold, so I looked it up on wikipedia. Hopefully, this is the hue you’re looking for. As you requested, I changed the background to black and the circles to various shades of grey. I figured it would look best if I changed the text to Vegas Gold as well. Overall I think the colors came out pretty well balanced.
After making the text updates, I needed to change the font sizes. There were just too many characters, and they were not fitting into the layout properly. I adjusted some of the type sizes in an attempt to get everything to fit and maintain the visual hierarchy. This gave me version 1, which I have attached.
I was still not happy with the organization of the text, so I revamped it a little more extensively in version 2. I have attached this also. I changed the font to Helvetica Neue. It is a very professional font with good kerning and multiple font weights & widths. It is also sans serif, so this layout has a little more of an Olympics 2004 look.
I think that version 2 has a couple more details that could be ironed out. However, Illustrator just crashed, and I figured I’d take the opportunity to show you what I’l working with so far. If you like what I’m doing with version 2, let me know and I’ll finish it off. If you want me to go back to the first version, or change version 2, or have other feedback let me know.

These look excellent! One thing I forgot to mention is that we probably need to replace the USKA logo with the World Tang Soo Do Logo. I’ll send you a copy of what I have. I can’t remember if the logo I have is high resolution or not. I think the WTSDA logo in black and white would look hot.
Are these graphics ready for a t-shirt print?
Ethan,
I reviewed these with Mr. Convento and we like the first version better. I have attached the World Tang Soo Do Association Logo that needs to replace the USKA logo. Can you try one version with the WTSDA logo in color and another with the logo in Black and White?
This needs to be high resolution enough so that we can have it printed on T-Shirts.
Let me know if there is anything else you would need from me.
Thank you,
Hi Mr Yahner,
Here are the latest versions of the file. All of these versions use the WTSD Association logo. Half use the color version, and half use a grayscale version. For each version of the logo, I have included 3 different file formats: eps, pdf, and illustrator. Hopefully that should be sufficient for the shirt printer. Also, these files are vector so they should scale well to any size or resolution. However, they are cropped to an 8.5 X 11 aspect ratio. I you would like, I can tweak this to be a different aspect ratio. I think the psd file you sent me was 12 X 12, so you may want me to replicate that.
Let me know if you have further updates for me to make.

Hi Ethan,
These look great, however Mr. Convneto wanted the font from the first version. I think I liked it better as well. Can you put the first version font and keep the color logo? You can add the additional hours on.
Thank you,
Hi Mr Yahner,
Sorry about the confusion. Here are the files with the new font.
